GOLD producer St Barbara announced today that Eduard Eshuys has resigned from the board as managing director and chief executive officer, to be replaced by Tim Lehany.
Mining engineer Lehany was previously executive general manager operations of Newcrest Mining and led the establishment and operation of the Ridgeway gold mine in New South Wales.
The changes will take effect in early March 2009.
Cazaly Resource managing director Nathan McMahon has resigned from the board of uranium hopeful Bannerman Resources.
Resource Capital Funds co-founder James McClements will replace McMahon as a non-executive director.
Rio Tinto subsidiary Coal & Allied has appointed Bill Champion as managing director, following the defection to BHP Billiton of former boss Hubie van Dalsen.
Champion has been with Rio since 2002 and has been MD of Rio Tinto Diamonds since 2007.
International accounting and consulting firm KPMG has appointed partner Simon Crane as the head of the company's mining group in Australia.
Malcolm Macpherson will join Pluton Resources as non-executive chairman.
Macpherson recently resigned from the board of Pluton's joint venture partner Portman following the successful takeover by Cliffs Natural Resources.
Former chief executive of Iluka Resources, Macpherson is also on the board of Minara Resources, Range River Gold, Canada-listed Titanium Corporation and is chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Minerals Processing.
Gladiator Resources also has a new chairman, Geoff Wedlock.
Wedlock was recently appointed to the board as a non-executive director and his previous roles include managing director of Grange Resources, managing director of Portman, and executive vice president and chief executive officer of BHP Billiton Iron Ore.
Meanwhile, Michael Fotios has resigned as a non-executive director of lithium hopeful Galaxy Resources.
Gerard Nealon has been appointed chairman of Great Australian Resources, following the resignation of Alan Doyle.
Legacy Iron Ore has welcomed geologist Dan Baldwin as exploration manager.
Baldwin's previous roles include senior geologist with UEX Corporation in Canada and mineral resource manager and chief mine geologist for Gold Fields' Agnew gold mine.
Lion Manager executive director Chris Melloy has resigned as a non-executive director of Catalpa Resources, following the appointment of Barry Sullivan as the new representative of Lion Selection.
Stephen Brockhurst has resigned from the board of coal-to-liquids hopeful Blackham Resources and will not be replaced.
Meanwhile, Daniel Johnson and Matthew Rimes have resigned as directors of Sovereign Metals, while the company also announced it will close its Townsville exploration office and consolidate its activities in Perth.
Commercial lawyer Mary-Eileen Scanlan will replace John Geary as company secretary of Yellow Rock Resources and Greater Pacific Gold.
Geary has also resigned as a director of Yellow Rock.
Phillip Hains has resigned as joint company secretary of Jutt Holdings, leaving Liza Carpene to continue as sole company secretary.
